After winning the FA Cup, Pep Guardiola made it clear there would be no extended celebrations for Manchester City because their Premier League title race is still alive. Following City’s 1-0 victory over Chelsea F.C. at Wembley, Guardiola immediately shifted focus toward the upcoming league clash against AFC Bournemouth.
Guardiola reportedly told reporters that his players would not be allowed “even one beer” after the FA Cup triumph, stressing that recovery and preparation mattered more than celebration because Bournemouth represented “the other final” in City’s season.
The urgency comes from the tight Premier League race. Manchester City remain under pressure from Arsenal F.C., with only a few matches left in the season. Guardiola has repeatedly emphasized that every remaining game is decisive, especially against a Bournemouth side still pushing for European qualification.
City secured the FA Cup thanks to a spectacular back-heel goal from Antoine Semenyo, sealing an eighth FA Cup title for the club and adding another trophy to Guardiola’s era at the Etihad.
